Who is Amanda Primrose?
The story of Amanda Primrose began over 80 years ago during the London blitz. My mother Margaret spent many scary nights below ground in a tube station imagining a nicer world than the one unfolding above her. In that imaginary world she was a little girl called Amanda Primrose. Amanda lived in a chocolate box English village surrounded by nature and generally all things wonderful. My mother herself had a long and interesting life, but I think she was still a little envious of Amanda’s!
Now here I am, living in a truly idyllic part of the world on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, sheep grazing in the field at the back of the house, a 15th century church tower watching over them, the high moor with its iconic tors glistening in the distance. This and my desire to share with you some of what inspires me has finally brought Amanda Primrose to life.
What is Amanda Primrose?
What you’ll find at Amanda Primrose is a place where you can indulge your passion for felting, or perhaps discover that you have one. There are learning opportunities for budding and more seasoned felters, supplies and equipment, and if you just want to pick up something a little whimsical for yourself or someone special you’ll find that here too. Our creations and supplies are from natural, sustainable, sources. We use and provide local British wool where possible, and always have an eye to supporting our farmers. I, and Amanda, hope you’ll join us on our fully woolly journey!
